Your college education is one of the most important investments you will make. Our Financial Aid Office offers a variety of programs to make a USM education within reach of every eligible student. Grants, scholarships, work-study programs, and educational loans totaling more than $85 million are available each year to assist eligible students. More than 80 percent of our students receive financial assistance through these programs, with each receiving an average financial aid package of close to $13,500.
To be considered for financial aid you must submit the following:
1. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). For the fall and subsequent spring semester, the USM Office of Financial Aid must receive this form filed electronically at www.fafsa.ed.gov by March 1. The Federal Processor must receive your completed FAFSA data by February 15, 2011 to reach USM by our March 1, 2011 priority deadline. USM’s Title IV federal school code for the FAFSA is 009762.
Applications for financial aid received after the stated deadline will be reviewed only to the extent that funds remain available throughout the spring.
2. While you may choose not to include your social security number on your application for admission, please understand that this information is required for those intending to apply for financial aid.
