HOSTAGE WILDFLOWERS

Daisy-grouped hanging sea, wet paintbrush filled

with devil-drops, purple vetch steering its barge,

soaked as long-cold sea-houses, and less tame:

close visitors, the gentle places in grass came

to earth. They trap you wild while the large

rain centers and your drops fall, build, fall, build.
