April, 2011

Senior Jennifer Johnson has been accepted into the graduate program at The Climate Change Institute at the University of Maine Orono starting Fall 2011. Congratulations Jenn!



March, 2011
Senior Scott Thurston will be presenting a paper at the ESRI International User Conference in San Diego California in July 2011.  Scott will present his research on using GIS to identify Viking habitation sites
at a special session on GIS in Archaeology.

Students Abraham Dailey (now in the Master's program at the Muskie School's Community Planning and Development program) and Leonora Begin present research on population and land use change across the Sebago Lake watershed at the Maine Water Conference.

Nathan Hamilton along with a large contingent of Geography-Anthropology majors attend and present research at the Society of American Archaeology conference held in Sacramento California.

Join students in oral and poster presentations at Thinking Matters on April 30.  Several Geography-Anthropology students will be giving oral presentations and displaying posters on research conducted with faculty during the school year.

Congratulations to Kreg Ettenger on receiving tenure and being promoted to Associate Professor!

Congratulations to Judy Tizon on her retirement. We will miss Judy and wish her all the best!

Student Nick Diamon will be graduating this year and has been accepted to the University of Southhampton's Maritime and Underwater Archaeology Master's degree program.  Nick also helped lead the Geography-Anthropology Student Association this year.
