Fall 2003 COS141 will be focused on Visual Basic.NET.

Textbook: Visual Basic .NET, How to Program, Second Edition Deitel, Deitel, Nieto.

Additional Text, Recommended but not required:
Visual Basic .NET - Your Visual Blueprint for Building Versatile Programs on the .NET Framework--Bowman

Both textbooks are available at the bookstore.

Software:: VB.NET or VisualStudio.Net

The Fall semester course will work through Chapter 11. The spring semester will complete the remainder of the text. This is a very aggressive schedule but will present comprehensive instruction in the .NET language. I expect students will have read Chapters 1, 2, and 3 in Detel, and Chapter 1 of Bowman. Class discussion will begin with concepts of the .NET framework, the IDE, and basic programming.

    • Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at West Point
