My research focuses on correlating shifts in physical properties, in particular fluorescence, with changes in the characteristic size of a system. I use a custom-built light scattering instrument to measure particle size distributions, and research-grade spectroflourometers to examine the photophysical properties of materials.
I spent the past year (AY 2010-2011) on sabbatical in Prague at the Jaroslav Heyrovskı Institute of Physical Chemistry, part of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, using fluorescence correlation spectroscopy to study group 14 metalloles in mixed solvent solutions.
