This project is about the issue of homelessness. Homelessness is not just about literally being without a home, but being in a state of economic need or being socially dependent. Nationally and locally, scores of people are living by the moment. Where to find shelter, where to find food, and where to find a safe haven from the troubles of everyday life are common concerns for too many people. National policies, various acts and programs will be discussed and classified with regard to homelessness. At a local level, Portland, Maine will be used to illustrate some aspects of homelessness and what services are available.
