Office of Support for Students with Disabilities

Mission Statement:

The Office of Support for Students with Disabilities works together with students, faculty, staff, and community to support the educational goals of students with disabilities. This is done by:

  • Certifying and coordinating reasonable and effective accommodations to provide access for persons with disabilities
  • Minimizing physical and attitudinal barriers
  • Building relationships and resources within the University and larger community.

Ultimately, we envision a University community that values the contributions of all members regardless of disability and provides the opportunity for them to realize their greatest potential.

In all its activities, OSSD seeks to balance the rights and responsibilities for both the student and the University within a philosophical framework that stresses student independence and self-reliance.
