Get Politically Active!

Want to be politically active in nursing issues but to busy?  Unsure of where to start?  You don't have to do it alone.  There are a multitude of organizations which support nursing issues and politics.  By virtue of your support, you can institute change in the future of nursing.  Here is a list of organizations that support nursing issues as well as elected officials.  This is not a complete list and any organization in which you are a member can impart change.

National Council on the State Boards of Nursing
Has information about all state boards, as well as on the RN compact and the attempt to get an NP compact.

Nurse.org
This is a general search engine that not only identifies all state boards, but all the different nurse and NP organizations in every specialty.

US Senate
This is to access your state's senators to the US Government.

US House of Representatives
This is the site for US representatives

Maine Legislature
This site guides you through the Maine legislature, gives names of all reps and senators, as well as access to state legislation.
