Write a well organized coherent paper presenting a critique of your own practice based on the work you are doing in your field placement. The main body of part 2 should be 8-10 pages long. In addition to the main body of your paper, attach a process recording of a critical incident in your work with an individual, family, or group as an appendix (4-5 pgs).Points will be taken off for excess length. Follow APA guidelines for font size, margins, page numbering, headings and citations. Place your name on a blank page at the BACK of your paper.
I.Discussion of Literature
Provide a brief discussion of the literature in relation to your work.
A.You should include pertinent information from at least 3 current journal articles about the population served (e.g. homeless persons, battered women, persons who have been diagnosed with major mental illness) and/or the context of work (e.g. child welfare, group home, medical hospital) or specific methods used (group techniques, mediation)
B.Use illustrations from the literature and your work to demonstrate your ability to integrate information from the literature in your work.
IICritique of your practice
A.Outcome Evaluation
Provide a description of the relationship between your agreement for working together with your client and your method of evaluation.
B.Describe how you know whether the goals of your work with your client are being met.
Describe your methodology in detail.
Present supporting data clearly.
C.What changes in your work will you make as a result of this evaluation of practice?
III.Process Evaluation
A.Describe how you have evaluated your choice(s) of social work action.
B.How did you determine which social work actions were effective and which were not?Provide an illustration of each. Make clear references to your work by citing your process recording (provide quotation in the text of your paper in addition to citing page in the process recording).
C.What changes in your work will you make as a result of this evaluation of practice?
Remember to use a strengths approach to your own professional development.It is very important to note what works and what doesn’t work. State clearly what you’ve done that you believe is effective and how do you know it’s effective. Also, state clearly what you’ve done that you believe was not effective and state clearly how you know it was not effective.
